Professional background

Emily A. Hall founded The Federal Disability Review, LLC (TFDR) to help federal employees understand their options when health challenges make continued service difficult. Her approach brings together military paralegal experience, federal administrative service, disability-retirement case support, and firsthand understanding of the decisions employees face when their careers and health collide.

Emily served five years in the United States Army as a Paralegal Specialist, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2015, before being medically discharged. Her military service developed the habits that continue to shape her work: careful documentation, attention to detail, respect for deadlines, and a commitment to helping people navigate complicated systems during consequential moments in their lives.

Following her military service, Emily built a professional background spanning healthcare, legal support, and federal operations. She worked within the Federal Aviation Administration’s Aerospace Medicine organization as a Regional Clerk and later as a Program Analyst. That experience gave her an inside perspective on federal workplace expectations, administrative processes, and the responsibilities employees carry while managing demanding careers.

Emily also served as a Managing Disability Retirement Specialist with the Law Office of Justin Schnitzer. In that role, she gained practical experience supporting disability-retirement matters and working with the employment and medical documentation that can shape an application. Her background informs TFDR’s emphasis on understanding the process, organizing factual records, and helping clients recognize questions that require an attorney or treating medical professional.

Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies, earned cum laude from American Military University, and an Associate of Arts in Paralegal Studies. She also completed medical-assistant training and has pursued graduate study in Organizational Management. Together, these disciplines inform her understanding of administrative systems, workplace demands, and the importance of clear communication across professional settings.

For Emily, disability is also personal. As a disabled veteran and former federal employee managing chronic health conditions, she understands that a strong work ethic does not eliminate functional limitations. She knows the strain of wanting to keep contributing while recognizing that the demands of a position may no longer be sustainable—and how difficult it can be to explain that reality to others.

That perspective is central to TFDR’s mission. Emily believes federal employees deserve clear information, respectful conversations, and support that recognizes both their professional contributions and their individual circumstances. Her goal is to make an unfamiliar process easier to understand so clients can ask better questions, organize their own information, and make informed decisions.

Under her leadership, TFDR provides plain-language educational resources, flexible consultations, factual medical-records organization, and defined support for the initial disability-retirement application process. The business emphasizes transparent scope, practical guidance, and services matched to the client’s needs. Clients remain responsible for their applications and decisions, while medical opinions remain with qualified treating professionals.

Emily maintains clear boundaries around that work. TFDR is an independent, non-attorney consulting business. It does not provide legal advice, medical opinions, representation before OPM or MSPB, or guarantees of eligibility or approval. Recognizing when a client needs a different professional is an essential part of her approach.

Based in Northlake, Texas, Emily is a wife, mother, and creative entrepreneur. Across her work, she brings a consistent purpose: helping people feel heard, understand the information in front of them, and take their next step with greater clarity.

Through The Federal Disability Review, Emily continues the service-oriented work that has connected each chapter of her career—helping people navigate demanding systems while respecting the lives behind the paperwork.
